Fans For A Cure started out as a team name for a local American Cancer Society Relay For Life team in 2010. The team was formed in the memory of Cindy Lit’s late mother, Carol A. McLellan, who lost her battle with Breast Cancer on February 20, 1993 and Cindy’s sister-in-law, Connie McLellan, who at that time was battling Breast Cancer for the second time in 13 years.
A fundraiser was launched, with great success, thanks to some dedicated team members and supporters, that it was decided that Fans For A Cure would be more than just a team name, it would become a cause. Fans was then registered as an LLC dedicated to doing various fundraising events and helping cancer-plagued families in need.
As of Feb 20th, 2013, Fans will be registered as a 501-3 (c) non-profit organization that can do much more to help make lives better. Fans For A Cure is more than just a name or a company, it is now a memorial to Cindy’s mother and her generous spirit. We strive to keep her memory alive and have people know how much of an inspiration she was to this organization. We appreciate your generous support.
